Types of PCR Workstation

PCR workstation are designed to keep sensitive PCR amplification and manipulation of DNA or RNA free of contamination. PCR cabinets and hoods are useful additions to the molecular biology and genomics lab because they reduce cross-contamination, which reduces incorrect findings. UV sterilisation and overlapping seams or seamless construction ensure that hazardous energy does not leave the chamber.

Laminar flow and dead air are two types of PCR workstations or PCR hoods that help the researcher by reducing background and cross-contamination. Laminar Flow circulates and filters air smoothly and constantly in parallel layers while Dead Air is circulation-free air.

Filtration efficiency is 99.999 percent and particles 0.3 m and bigger are retained in units with built-in laminar flow and integrated HEPA or ULPA filters. A circulation-free atmosphere is provided by dead-air or still-air boxes. Digital timers for automated UV light management, ergonomic design, and hinged sashes for quick access are all useful features. If you need extra workspace, take in mind that PCR workstation are often bigger than PCR cabinets.

The area for conducting DNA and RNA amplification is provided by a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) workstation, which is a workspace enclosed on three sides. These workstations, which are often seen in biology and genetic laboratories, avoid cross contamination between samples and UV sterilising lamps.

The contamination-free environment necessary for the most sensitive DNA/RNA segment identification is provided by PCR workstation enclosures. The safety glass sash is commonly used in laboratory testing to provide handlers with the best optical capabilities while magnifying cellular components. The air quality is maintained (either naturally or using circulators and filters) to ensure that no particles that might affect the results are present. For simple disinfection, the PCR workstation enclosures emit strong UV light in scheduled increments between usage.

The air filtration capacity

The quality of pre filters and HEPA filters determines the effectiveness of a PCR workstation. The Air filtering technology in Igene Labserve's PCR cabinet is designed to operate well even in a high-pressure environment. It utilises box type pleated pre filters that have a 95 percent efficiency down to 5 micron and are comprised of HDPE + Non-woven + HDPE mesh media and are housed in an aluminium container. The HEPA filters are of excellent quality, with a 99.99 percent efficiency down to 0.3 micron and are housed in an anodized aluminium housing. The blower assembly features an aluminium anodized impeller and a 14 HP, 1400 RPM branded motor.

The work space has been thoughtfully constructed for ease of use and cleaning. Stainless steel is used to construct the workstation. Air / gas cock and electricity outlet have standard fittings. Fluorescent bulbs are used for lighting. A manual sliding door (sash) constructed of clear acrylic plastic covers the front side of the working space.

If the buyer so desires, several optional functions can be incorporated. It has an LCD display for air velocity, time, and lamp on/off status. If needed, a germicidal UV lamp, an additional electrical outlet, and a Magnehelic gauge are also included.

Germicidal UV lamp

A UV lamp is an optional feature that is used to disinfect the work area before it is utilised. During this period, it is recommended that no contact be made in the chamber.

Igene Labserve is PCR manufacturers and suppliers in India who are ISO and CE certified. For laboratory usage, our firm creates both horizontal and vertical pcr benches that satisfy ISO (class 100) requirements. These units are composed of stainless steel sheet (304/316) or powder coated mild steel or GI sheets and are built to last for years of worry-free operation.

What should you look for in PCR machines?

What is PCR?

PCR helps in the understanding of many environmental issues especially the detection of microorganisms in the environment, identification, and quantification of specific target species, even when they exist in low numbers.

What is the function of a PCR machine?

  • The PCR enclosed cabinet workstations are ideal for particle and bacteria-free working environments in laboratories. These HEPA filtered air cabinets transmit unidirectional steady and constant airflow with zero turbulence.
  • The PCR cabinets perform sterilized work. The units however do not ensure protection to the user but protect the samples and products from room contamination.
  • The vertical laminar airflow PCR cabinets allow room air in the work area, through the HEPA filters. The air flows in a downward direction on the work surface leaving the cabinet and sweeping bacteria and other particles with it.
  • The cabinet ensures high longevity as it is constructed with thick metal sheets and pipes enabling safety. The efficient inclusion of HEPA filters garners work efficiency even when the most critical particles are handled. The prefilters demonstrate the efficiency of up to 95% to 5 microns. The Aluminum case bears non-woven and meshes HDPE. The HEPA filters fitted in aluminum anodized case can go down to 0.3 microns with 99.99% efficiency. The blower motor includes aluminum anodized impellers, and the assembly has 1/4HP, 1400RPM.
  • The work surface is made of stainless steel for regular and easy cleaning and is fitted with standard components like an air gas cock and an electric outlet. Florescent lamps illuminate the cabinet interior. Manual sliding acrylic transparent door covers the front side of the cabinet. If you purchase your PCR cabinet from IgeneLabServe, you can add more customized features like LCD air velocity display, lamp on/off time status display, Germicide UV lamp, that sterilize your workspace before you start work, you can add extra electric sockets and Magnehelic gauge according to requirement.

Why choose IgeneLabServe?

  • The company is ISO and CE certified.
  • You can order horizontal and vertical PCR benches according to your lab need and space.

With the capacity of sustaining years of operations, they display high longevity and efficiently serve the labs they belong to. The powder-coated mild steel or GI sheet bodies add to the cabinet’s life. If you require a PCR machine order the most reliable one from https://www.igenels.com/. Call 1800 5720 603 for details.
